WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA9) -- The statistics on child sex abuse are staggering. One in 10 children will be sexually abused before they turn 18.
The advocacy center helps to heal children whose lives have been broken apart by abuse.
Michele Booth Cole says if you have a hunch a child has been abused, you shouldn't ignore it.
She says some of the signs parents should look for are:
If a child reports or tells you
New fears or not wanting to do something that he or she previously enjoyed
Sudden changes in personality
