CULPEPER, Va. (WUSA9) -- A Virginia woman has been charged with four burglaries at various businesses in Virginia.
Joanna Lee Hawkins, 48, faces four counts of burglary.
Hawkins was charged with a burglary at Culpeper Cleaners located at the 700 block of North Main Street which happened on Dec. 13. She also faces charges involving the January burglaries of three Meadowbrook Shopping Center businesses. Officials say she stands charged with burglaries at Z's Nu Look and Deema's Restaurant on Jan. 14..
In addition, Hawkins is also accused of breaking into the Culpeper Regional Hospital Thrift Store on Jan. 20.
Hawkins was located by Police while they were canvassing the area of the shopping center following the burglary of the hospital's thrift shop. She had a laceration to her arm and was taken to the UVA medical Center in Charlottesville for treatment, police said.
Police had recovered physical evidence at all four burglaries and lab results linked two of the burglaries to Hawkins. Officials are waiting on the results for the others.
The investigation is still underway and there may be more charges, officials said.
