LEESBURG, Va. (WUSA9) -- No one was injured when a plane veered off the runway and flipped over at the Leesburg Executive Airport on Tuesday, according to the FAA.
FAA officials say a Cessna C205 aircraft landed at the airport, veered off the runway and flipped over. Virginia State Police say a strong gust of wind caused the crash.
The pilot, 52-year-old Robert L. Bailey Jr. was not injured in the crash. He was the sole occupant.
The extent of damage to the aircraft has not been determined yet and the FAA is investigating.
The plane has since been turned right-side up.
