GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WUSA9) -- Montgomery County fire officials say four people were taken to the hospital after a Gaithersburg fire Thursday afternoon.
A 25-year-old female, 2-year-old and 3-year-old child were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The grandmother of the children was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, officials said.
The two-alrm fire started in the basement of a townhouse in the 400 block of Carousel Court, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson Pete Piringer said.
The fire has been knocked down and officials have called for an EMS task force to help treat the victims. The family will be displaced, officials said.
The house did not have a fire alarm.
Red Cross is helping four adults and three children that were displaced by the fire. All four people have been released from the hospital.
Damages are estimated to be around $65,000.
