RAW: Police Press Conference Jesse Jones

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Police continue to search for an 83-year-old man from DC who was last seen on Tuesday. A press conference on the case was held Thursday afternoon.

A Silver Alert was issued for Jesse Jones on Wednesday. He was last seen at the Busboys & Poets restaurant in the 1000 block of 5th Street, N.W. on March 11.

Ahead of the conference, officials with the assisted living facility where Jones lived issued a press release. Representatives from The Residences at Thomas Circle say that Jones suffers from dementia and high blood pressure, which required daily medication. Reps joined police and other officials at the press conference.

Authorities said there is a growing concern, not only because of Jones health issues but because of the weather.

Authorities also states at the conference that their hopes are somebody decided to give Jones shelter because of the cold weather.

Officials describe Jones as a 'black male, 5'7" tall, weighs approximately 160-165 pounds, medium build, white & grey hair, brown eyes, and has a medium complexion'.

Jones was last seen wearing a navy blue jacket and blue pants, officials said.

According to The Residences reps, Jones was the former Chief Warden of the District of Columbia Jail, and one of the first African American officials in Mayor Walter Washington's DC Department of Corrections.
