GERMANTOWN, Md. (WUSA9) -- A man was shot and killed in Montgomery County over a debt he may have owed, police said in a news release on Friday.

Kelvin Parache, 29, of Rockville was arrested on Thursday for shooting and killing James Allen Frazier on a Ride-on Bus, on Tuesday night, police said.

"Investigation revealed that Frazier owed Parache an undisclosed amount of money. Parache believed that Frazier was avoiding him and went in search of Frazier during the evening of March 4. Parache located Frazier in a vehicle and began following him to various locations within Montgomery County. At approximately 9:15 p.m., Frazier exited the vehicle and entered an establishment in the Flower Hill area of Gaithersburg," police said.

That's when Parache followed Frazier onto the bus and shot him, police said.

Police developed Parache as a suspect and arrested him in a vehicle on New Hampshire avenue and I-495.

They later found evidence at an address in Silver Spring that connected Parache to the crime, police said.

Parache has been charged with first degree murder and the use of a firearm in commission of a violent felony.

Parache is currently being held without bond pending a bond review hearing on Friday.
