WASHINGTON D.C. (WUSA9) -- The Metropolitan Police Department made an arrest Friday in a shooting that happened over the weekend in the 2300 block of 24th Street, Southeast.
Police said they were called to a shooting Sunday around 2:06 p.m and found a man who had gunshot wounds.
The victim, 18-year-old Deangelo Gatling was transported to the hospital and died there, according to police.
Members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested the 24-year-old shooter, David Washington, of Southeast, D.C. police said.
Washington has been charged with first degree murder while armed in connection to the homicide of Gatling, according to police.
