DAMERON, Md. (WUSA9) -- The Criminal Investigation Division of St. Mary's County is searching for three men who broke into a home and demanded money from the resident early Wednesday morning.

St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office Patrol units responded to a report of a burglary of a home around 2:35 a.m. Deputies said the resident was inside her home at the time of the burglary.

Three men broke into her home, pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the victim, according to the sheriff's office.

The sheriff's office said the burglars continued searching her home and after not finding any money, physically assaulted her. The three men took some of her personal items and then ran away.

The first suspect is being described as an African-American man with a small build, dark complexion, who was wearing all black clothing, a black mask and armed with a small dark handgun at the time.

The sheriff's office described the second suspect as an African- American, with a small to average build, also wearing dark clothing with a white mask armed with a taser or a stun gun.

Suspect number three is an African-American man, medium complexion and possibly has short dread locks.
