UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (WUSA9) -- Prince George's County Police need your help in tracking down a killer in its latest homicide.

Police say a Capitol Heights man was killed close to where a large house party was going on.

"During the night my wife had woke me up and told me she heard 5 shots. In the morning there were cops everywhere and there were 5 casings they said," residentJulio Cornejo said.

Police arrived just after midnight Saturday morning in the 11800 block of North Marlton Avenue in Upper Marlboro to find a large party going on.

Police say there were at least a hundred people out in the street.

Police had trouble dispersing the large crowd when an officer was hurt when a teenage girl went after him.

"He was assaulted by a 17 year old female who lunged at him, assaulting him causing him to break his leg and twist his ankle," Prince George's County police officer Harry Bond said.

About an hour later police got a call from a homeowner about a suspicious person. When they arrived they found 19-year-old Rashad Andre Pinkney with a gunshot wound, several homes down from the large party. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

"We're looking at the parameters of the party. The person who threw the party has not been charged. We are looking into what was going on with the party as it relates to the party," Bond said.

Police believe if there is a connection then someone knows something.

"If the person attended the party, we know it was a large party, we know there was a lot of people in the area. If anyone knows anything please do not hesitate to call the police department," Bond said.

"It's a shock. Been here for about a year and nothing like this has happened. Hopefully it's a one time thing."

No one was arrested for the loud party except the teenager who attacked the officer,"Cornejo said.

There is a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
