ROCKVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Montgomery County Police Spokesperson Paul Starkssays a man is in custody after a possible domestic situation and barricade in Rockville on Wednesday morning.
ASWAT team was called to the scene of a possible domestic situation ata house in the 600 block of Azalea Drive at apprxoimately 8 a.m.
Starks says that awoman called police to claimdomestic abuse and threats. The man was believed to be armed and was inside the house alone, according Starks.
Policewere using bullhorns to try to get a response from the man biut at one point officers approached the home on foot. Authorities say negotiators from the department's Emergency Response Team communicated with the man through the front door.
At approximately 9:25 a.m. the man surrendered voluntarily and was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation, according to authorities.
No shots were fired and there were no injuries, say officials.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
