WASHINGTON (WUSA9) – In the wake of an angry social media response to Metro's services and responsiveness, WUSA9 has announced a public #MetroIntervention scheduled for Monday at 5:00 pm.

The subject came to a boiling point Wednesday night when Metro began tweeting challenges to WUSA9 tweets about the quality of its speaker systems.

The agency refused to do an interview and responded like the hard to hear announcements we heard were a rarity.

Thursday at 11:00 pm, WUSA9 aired new recordings of WMATA Metrorail announcements. Friday, during the 6:00 pm news, WUSA9 aired additional clips of Metro announcements that were unintelligible

From 5:00 to 7:00 Monday evening WUSA9 will set up at the Farragut North Metro station to interview the General Manager of Metro – you should note, WMATA still hasn't responded to our invitation.

If the Metro general manager, Richard Sarles, does not attend, WUSA9 will use the time to document rider complaints.

Already more than 50 viewers have RSVP'd - one commenting that depends on whether the redline can actually get her there..another saying…if her bus actually comes.

Metro says its own audit shows 85% of announcements are understandable.

WUSA9 has asked Metro for documentation its data, but WMATA has not provided it.
