WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA9) -- A viewer who contacted WUSA9 with a roach photo in her curry chicken forwarded the picture to health officers who shut the restaurant down, sewage closes another restaurant, a hotel and a 4 star Virginia restaurant is shuttered with mold in the ice machine and a market closed for mice droppings.

Inspectors closed Tropicana Eatery in Marlow Heights, Stone Hearth Bakery in Forestville, Hampton Inn in Bowie, Russia House in Herndon, Mexico Lindo in Bladensburg and Smucker Farm of Lancaster County in The District.

All the food establishments have passed re-inspection and have since re-opened.

Photo Shows Roach In Customer's Food At A Prince George's County Eatery

Carlisha Morgan says her curried chicken takeout from Tropicana Eatery in Marlow Heights, Maryland had a roach in it.

She contacted our investigative unit and we gave her contact information to file a complaint with the Prince George's County Health Department.

Officials responded to Morgan's complaint and ruled it valid and shut down Tropicana Eatery on Branch Avenue. Besides roaches, inspectors also cited Tropicana Eatery for mice droppings.

Mouse Droppings Inside Food At Bakery In Forestville

At the Stone Hearth Bakery processing center in Forestville, Maryland, they didn't let us in, but from the outside we saw bugs in traps and on the floor.

Health Inspectors shut the bakery down citing old and fresh mouse droppings on food equipment.

Sewage Back-Up At Bar In Bladensburg

In Bladensburg, Maryland inspectors cited Mexico Lindo on Annapolis Road for a sewage back-up at the bar's drain and for a broken hand washing sink. The manager said they corrected the violation by plugging in a pump and installing a new faucet.

A Bowie Hotel Without A Health Permit

The Hampton Inn on Major Landsdale Boulevard in Bowie, Maryland was cited by officials for not having a permit. A manager blamed it on a paperwork mix-up related to a management changeover.

4-Star Russian Restaurant Closed For Mold And More

Virginia inspectors cited Russia House in Herndon for mold in the ice machine, not tracking employee diseases that could be transmitted through food, and for not having anyone certified in food safety. At first they invited WUSA9 in, but we were asked to leave when we asked to take a look inside the kitchen.

Mouse Droppings Found At Specialty Food Store in Northwest

On 14th Street, NW inspectors shut down Smucker Farms of Lancaster County for an imminent health hazard due to mouse droppings.
