(WXIA) -- Ida Keeling is proving age is just a number.

The 99-year-old great-grandmother, who is 4 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 88 pounds, set a world record in a 100-meter race in Ohio after she ran it in 59.8 seconds, the fastest ever for a person her age in an internationally recognized race.

Keeling said she started running back in 1967 after the death of her son as a way to escape from the grief she was feeling. Her doctor told her she is as healthy as a 20-year-old.

Even though she broke the record this year, Keeling said she will be back at is again in 2015, when she will try and break her own record...this time as a 100-year-old.
