MANASSAS, Va. (WUSA9) -- The nation's largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization is asking the FBI and other officials to investigate vandalism at the Manassas Mosque in Manassas, Va.
According to a press release from The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) on Tuesday, members want authorities " to investigate a possible bias motive..."
According to CAIR, "An official of the Manassas Mosque in Manassas, Va., told CAIR that a security guard discovered yellow paint and an obscenity sprayed on doors and windows of the house of worship early this morning. The vandals also broke one of the mosque's glass doors."
A Prince William County Police spokesperson says the vandalism of the mosque was never reported to police but that officers went to the mosque on Tuesday to interview officials.
