FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA9) -- A Frederick man was arrested and charged with multiple drug offenses after he was spotted driving an RV in a "reckless manner," according to City of Frederick police.

The arrest happened on Monday afternoon. Police say at approximately 3:10 p.m. an off-duty Frederick Police officer was in the area of Woodville Rd. and Rt. 144, when saw an RV swerving in the road and nearly causing several crashes. According to a press release, "The officer followed the RV from Rt. 144 onto Rt. 70 W/B and from there to the City of Frederick limits. The officer continued to observe violations and a second city officer along with 2 Maryland State Police Troopers were able to join him in the area of Rt. 15 and Motter Ave. and stopped the RV on the Motter Ave. ramp."

Police later found the driver, identified as Paul John Morcone of Frederick, Md., in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana. They say they later found "significant quantities of other controlled dangerous substances" including Amphetamine, Methadone, Bath Salts, Oxycodone and Cocaine. According to police, the amphetamine, methadone and oxycodone, "while legal prescription drugs, were not packaged or contained in appropriate containers, nor was there evidence that they were prescribed to the operator."

Morcone was charged with Possession with intent to distribute and possession of Amphetamine, Possession of Methadone, Possession with intent to distribute and possession of Bath Salts, Possession of Marijuana, Possession with intent to distribute and possession of Oxycodone and Possession of Cocaine.

He was set to have an appearance before the District Court Commissioner at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
