Day of mourning planned in Santa Barbara

The six victims of a murderous rampage in Californiawill be remembered Tuesday in a "day of mourning and reflection'' by the University of California-Santa Barbara. Elliot Rodger, 22, stabbed to death three roommates at his apartment. He then went on a shooting spree, killing two women at a sorority house before heading to a deli where he killed another UC Santa Barbara student. Rodger was later found dead apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. MORE

Local space enthusiasts race to reach abandoned NASA satellite

Keith Cowing, a Reston space enthusiast, and a team of 20 convinced NASA to turn the weakened satellite over to their group of space enthusiasts.
