Two women have been arrested in murdering a Va. woman.
SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WUSA9) -- Authorities say two people have been arrested in connection with a woman who worked for MedStar Washington Hospital Center and was found dead in a home in Spotsylvania on May 18.
Nancy Mercer's employee contacted the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office after she failed to report to work.
Authorities say deputies went to a home in the 7800 block of Eastridge Way at 11:40 p.m.. There, they discovered the body of Mercer on the floor.
Mercer's body was transported to the Medical Examiner's Office in Richmond for autopsy, say officials.
According to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office, Christina Brown, 25, and Nancy's daughter, Alaina Mercer, 25, both of King George County were arrested in connection with the murder. They received arrest warrants late Friday night, authorities said.
