HILLANDALE, Md. (WUSA9) -- People were rescued from a house after a large tree fell on it in Silver Spring on Tuesday morning, says Montgomery County Fire Spokesperson Pete Piringer.

The house is located in the 10400 block of Royal Road in the Hillandale area off of New Hampshire Avenue.

According to Piringer, occupants of the house were assisted out by firefighters. Branches and limbs were preventing some people from getting out so firefighters cut the branches to aid in their escape.

No one was injured in the incident but there is damage to the carport, cars, and a corner of the house, reports Piringer.
