MANASSAS, Va. (WUSA9) -- Police arrested a man early Monday morning for shooting a wall and another man during an altercation in Prince William County.

According to police, at 1:58 a.m. Monday, officers responded to a home in the 7800 block of Blue Gray Cir in Manassas. A 38-year-old man told them that he and 28-year-old Jiquon Dominique Sitton were involved in an argument which escalated physically.

Sitton is accused of pulling out a handgun and shooting a round into a nearby wall. The victim then lunged at Sitton and was shot in the abdomen, say police.

The victim was flown to a hospital. He suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

Sitton was still on scene when officers arrived and arrested. He has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding, shooting in an occupied dwelling, and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. He is currently being held without bond.

Police say the shooting appears to have stemmed from an earlier domestic incident between the victim and a 45 year old woman who is related to Sitton.

They are still investigating the incident.
