ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) -- Fairfax County police say the number of burglaries of Subway restaurants has increased to 15 in the county. They may have been committed by the same person.

Earlier in April, police released a photo of a suspect in dozens of burglaries at the sub shops. On April 8th, there were a reported nine burglaries in Fairfax County. Police said other burglaries occurred in Alexandria and in Maryland jurisdictions.

The most recent burglary happened at 4 a.m. on Monday, April 28 at the restaurant in the 8500 block of Lee Highway in the Merrifield area, say police. The culprit broke the front door to enter and steal cash just like in other cases, say police.

Police described the suspect in the earlier cases as male, wearing a light-colored hoodie and dark pants. The description is similar to 27 other Subway restaurant burglaries since November 2013.
