SEAT PLEASANT, Md. (WUSA9) -- Officials are investigating a police-involved shooting in Maryland.
The shooting happened near Hill Rd/Hill Oaks Rd in Seat Pleasant, police said on Twitter.
An Officer was responding to a car speeding in the area on Hill Oaks Rd. The driver of the car approached the officer who 'perceived a danger and discharged his duty weapon, officials said on Twitter. Police Officers found a passenger in the stopped vehicle who was suffering from gunshot wounds, unrelated to the officer discharging his weapon.
The driver of the car was not struck.
The incident is under investigation.
