BETHESDA, Md., (WUSA9) -- The Consumer Product Safety Commission has reached a settlement with the maker of Buckyballs and Buckycubes magnet sets.
The settlement agreement also calls for Buckyballs and Buckycubes maker Craig Zucker to fund a recall trust fund.
The CPSC first recalled the high-powered magnetic balls back in 2009. The agency has received numerous reports involving little ones who had ingested the Buckyballs and Buckycubes and in many cases required surgery to have them removed.
The CPSC says consumers will be notified how to apply for a refund once the Refund Trust has been established.
