(WUSA9) -- You get a tax break for your children so what about your pets?

Some Maryland Delegates want to give you a one-time tax break of $100 for adopting a pet from a shelter or a rescue organization.

Delegates Glen Glass, Michael Hough, Patrick McDonough, Neil Parrott and Justin Ready also want a $1,000 tax break for people who adopt retired police K-9s to pay for veterinary bills.
