And all of us should do more to protect our personal information.

One way to keep it from being compromised is not to share it in the first place.

So, just say "no" when the cashier asks for your email, phone number or zip code.

All of that information is collected into a consumer database by the store.

And, once a store's system is compromised, it puts you at risk for identity fraud and more.
