VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - A sailor remains missing after a Navy helicopter with five crew members crashed into the ocean off the Virginia coast.
The Navy says the helicopter crashed during a routine training mission Wednesday morning, killing two crew members and leaving two in the hospital.
The two who died were among four crewmembers hoisted from the 42-degree waters by a Navy helicopter. Two other crewmembers remain hospitalized in Norfolk.
Rescuers were scheduled to continue searching for the missing crew member through the night.
The Navy identified the aircraft as an MH-53E Sea Dragon, which searches for sea mines and does onboard delivery missions.
It wasn't immediately known why the chopper went down about 20 miles from Virginia Beach, and the Navy says the crash is under investigation.
