BALTIMORE (AP) - The National Weather Service says the temperature has reached a record low at Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshal International Airport.
The agency says the temperature was 3 degrees at BWI just before 6 a.m. Tuesday with a wind chill of minus 16. The airport's previous record for the day was set in 1988 at 8 degrees.
Dulles International Airport's record for the day is 8 degrees and by 6 a.m. the temperature dipped to 9 degrees with a wind chill of minus 5. It could still go lower before temperatures rise during the day.
The lowest temperature for the date at Reagan National Airport is 5 degrees in 1884. The weather service says the temperature at the airport was 7 degrees just before 6 a.m. with a wind chill of minus 10.
