You never know who you might run into at the White House...say, Snoop Dogg in a tux. Why not?
It was an unconventional encounter when Snoop met Secretary of State John Kerry, both decked out in penguin suits, at the White House earlier this month.
They talked, they laughed, they bumped fists, according to the cellphone video posted on Snoop's Instagram page.
From their tweets, it's hard to tell which one was more dazzled by the meet.
"Boss life. me n john kerry at d white house !!!" Snoop, now going by Snoop Lion, tweeted today.
Kerry's Foggy Bottom Twitter account retweeted that and added, "Between us we've sold 30 million-JK." Whatever that means.
The sound on the video was faint - they might have been talking about jazz legend Herbie Hancock's music - but the picture show the two of them talking animatedly, joking and slapping shoulders, as Kerry's wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, stood next to Kerry holding his hand and chatting to other guests.
The occasion was a White House reception for Kennedy Center honorees hosted by President Obama in the East Room on Dec. 8. Snoop performed a tribute that evening for Hancock.
Besides Hancock, the honorees included opera singer Martina Arroyo, musician Billy Joel, actress Shirley MacLaine and musician Carlos Santana. The honors ceremony show will air Sunday on CBS.
