WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Officials confirm that a deer jumped into a cheetah enclosure at the Zoo today.

The incident happened around 11:40 a.m. A zoo keeper saw the wild white tail deer with the cheetah who was biting on it's throat and another cheetah was by the rear of the deer. The deercarcass was then removed from the cheetah enclosure around 11:54 a.m., officials said.

The cheetahs were brother and sister, Carmelita and Justin. Officials are assuming that the deer jumped into the enclosure.
