LORTON, Va. (WUSA9) -- In February, an explosion injured a person at a Lorton sandwich shop in the 9500 block of Richmond Highway in the Williamsburg Square Shopping Center. Now, a man has been sentenced to 60 months in prison for the explosion.
Twenty-five-year-old Horace Sinclair Thompson Jr. of Lorton will be placed on 2 years of supervised release after serving prison time.
Thompson was found guilty for the arson of a retail foodestablishment on Oct. 3. According to documents, Thompson poured gasoline inside the shop and used a lighter to ignite the vapors. An explosion and fireball followed, which blew out the store's window and blew a door off its hinges. The shop's owner was badly burned.
