(WUSA9) -- Charles County Sheriff's Officedetectivesare looking for Crystal Renee Brown, who is accused of forging checks that were stolen from mailboxes.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant that charges Brown with forgery and theft.

Authorities say residents left their bills in their mailbox for a postal worker to pick up, but before pick-up someone stole the mail. Later,many checks intended for bill payments were altered, according to authorities.

Brown, who also uses the name Crystal Renee Johnson,was identified asa suspect who wasforging the checks and then cashing them at banks throught the state, in D.C. and in Virginia.
