LANGLEY PARK, Md. (WUSA9) -- After eluding capture for five years, Takoma Park police say a man wanted for murder is now in custody.

Police tell us 34-year-old Efrain Antonio Osorio was found in Georgetown, Texas on Nov. 7 by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. He was taken into custody and remains in Texas, awaiting extradition to Prince George's County, Md.

Osorio is accusedof shooting 50-year-old Rigoberto Rouqu Portel, according to police.Portela was found with gunshot wounds on September 26, 2008 in the 8100 block of 15th Avenue in Langley Park. He later died from his injuries.

Osorio was identified as a suspect shortly after but fled Maryland, say police. He was able to elude police for several years.
