BOWIE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Two dogs rescued from a house fire Wednesday in Prince George's County are in declining health, according to a news release.

The two chihuahuas -- 3-year old Mylo and 2-year-old Otis -- were rescued by fire officials Wednesday after a house fire at 12418 Sandal Lane in Bowie, Md.

Otis is not responding well to treatment and may die without medical attention from a veterinarian, according to officials. Mylo is suffering from eye irritation.

The owners of the dogs, however, cannot afford to have the dogs examined.

Prince George's County officials say the public may be asked to contribute financially to help cover the costs for treatment of the dogs.

Fire officials have arrested Julian Martin Massiah in connection with the fire, according to the news release.

Massiah, of Bowie, faces charges of 1st and 2nd degree arson. He is currently being held at the Prince George's County Department of Corrections on a $150,000 bond.
