WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Crews were out first thing Thursday morning removing barricades that surrounded National Park Service memorials and monuments.

The Lincoln Memorial was one of several tourist sites that reopened just hours after a deal was struck ending the government shutdown.

We caught up with some tourists from Minnesota who were elated that the shutdown is over.
