Providence, RI (SportsNetwork.com) - Tim Hardaway Jr. made a jumper with 8.2 seconds left to lift the New York Knicks over the Boston Celtics, 103-102, in preseason action.
Hardaway ended with 16 points for the Knicks, who let a 23-point lead slip away in the fourth quarter. Iman Shumpert and Metta World Peace added 18 and 13 points, respectively.
Phil Pressey had 13 points for the Celtics, who saw six players score in double figures. Avery Bradley and Chris Babb each finished with 12 points.
New York held a 92-69 lead with 8:13 to play, but Boston went on a 33-9 run to briefly go in front. Pressey tallied eight points during the surge, including a layup with 22.4 seconds left to make it 102-101 in favor of the Celtics.
Hardaway responded with a 17-foot jumper to put the Knicks back in front. C.J. Leslie blocked Babb's shot at the other end.
