LEESBURG, Va. (WUSA9) -- Twenty two years later, Leesburg Police say they are looking for a man who opened fire on two of his co-workers, who were also brothers.
Police say in the early morning hours of September 26, 1991, Bao Gia Luong shot at two of his co-workers in the parking lot of Barber and Ross at 110 Catoctin Circle SE inLeesburg. Ngau Ly was killed instantly. Ly's younger brother, Doung Ly, was severely injured, according to police. Police say Luong fled in his gold 1986 Pontiac STE.
Witnesses told police that the three men had been involved inarguments that turned physical in the days leading up to the shooting. On the day the were shot, the Ly brothers were sitting in their vehicle waiting for their shift to begin when Bao Gia Luong approached the passenger side of their vehicle and confronted Ngau Ly. Police say Luong shot Ly twice in the neck. Bao Gia Luong then turned his attention to Duong Ly and shot him several times.
According to police, Duong Ly was able to get out, but Bao Gia Luong caught up with him, but Bao Gia Luong's handgun was empty, say police.Duong Ly was able to escape while Bao Gia Luong fled the scene. His abandonedPontiac STEwas recovered days later in Lower Paxton Township, Pa., say police.
Luong, however,has not been seen since. Police are hoping that someone will knowthe location ofBao Gia Luong. Police say at the time, he had family in Harrisburg, Pa., Silver Spring, Md., San Jose Calif. and Toronto, Canada.
Police have released a photoof Luong from 1991, when he was 33 years old, and an age progression photo of what he may look like today at age 55.Take a good look at the photos and see if you recognize him.
Police add that Luong is trained as a carpenter and may still be working in that field.
