St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - The St. Louis Blues bolstered their depth at forward Monday, signing former Dallas Stars captain Brenden Morrow to a one- year contract.

Selected in the first round (25th overall) by Dallas in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft, Morrow spent his entire career with the Stars, serving as the team's captain from 2006 until he was dealt to Pittsburgh at the trade deadline last season.

The 34-year-old posted 12 goals and 13 assists in a combined 44 games with the Stars and Penguins during the shortened 2013 campaign.

For his career, Morrow has totaled 249 goals and 293 assists in 850 regular- season games in addition to 19 goals and 27 assists in 92 playoff contests.
