COLUMBIA, Md. (WUSA9) -- Twenty five years ago, Jacqueline Kotei was a six-year old child nearly given up for dead after being pulled from a burning home on Missouri Ave, NW.

But brave firefighters and a paramedic named Wilmer Scott refused to give up on Kotei even though the child's 4-year-old sister Gwendolyn did not survive.

On this 25th anniversary of this tragedy, our reporter Scott Broom reveals the surprising legacy of that night and how Kotei's life has turned out.
