WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Wednesday, August 28 will mark 50 years since the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. The march was a monumental moment in American history. It was held to protest the discrimination and economic inequality faced by African Americans.
In honor of the anniversary, a second march is being held Saturday at the Lincoln Memorial.
Reverend Omarosa Manigault talked to us about the Action to Realize the Dream March and Rally. You may remember her from "The Apprentice." Manigault was later ordained and is now Assoc. Pastor at Weller St. Missionary Baptist Church.
Manigaultdiscussed herrole at Saturday's event and some of the issues that still face the nation 50 years later.
