(USA TODAY) -- Carrie Underwood's a practical woman. She doesn't use her smartphone to play games. "It's all, like, healthy-living stuff," says the singer, just named as co-host for November's CMA Awards show for a sixth consecutive year.
"I use my Livestrong app a lot," says Underwood, 30. "I'm a calorie counter; I have been for, like, seven years. I keep a food journal, and it has all my foods in it."
Underwood also relies on her Whole Foods app, not just for its recipes and shopping lists, but because she often needs to find the nearest store. "When we're traveling, I have to look up Whole Foods. I love the grocery store."
Underwood's had a busy week, in part because her new Blown Away Live concert DVD is just out. She co-hosted Good Morning America on Monday and appeared on Live! With Kelly and Michael Tuesday. She'll play the Willamette Country Music Festival in Brownsville, Ore., on Friday. She's also the voice of a new Grand Ole Opry radio campaign that begins airing next week.
