WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- D.C. Mayor Vincent C. Gray cut the ribbon on another playground on Monday.

Volta Park Playgroundwas the second Play DC playspaces to be completed.It opened in Georgetown on Monday.

The play space features new play equipment, a PebbleFlex® safety surface, a refurbished sandbox, a new swing set and new benches.

According to the mayor's office, The Friends of Volta Park purchased and donated all of the new playground equipmentwhile the District (DPR) funded the site demolition and prep, equipment installation and delivery, the purchase of the new swing set, safety surface, benches and the refurbished sandbox.
