HERNDON, Va. (WUSA9) -- Fairfax County police say two men may have stolen approximately 400 Koi fish from a Herndon-area business park pond.
Employees told police that two men who claimed to be pond maintenance workers told them they were checking on the health of the fish in the pond near 2411 Dulles Corner Park, say police.Employees also said the men claimed they wereremoving unhealthy fish and leaving the healthy ones behind. According to police, four times this month -- on June 8, 9, 15 and 16 -- the men were seen scooping the fish with large nets and placing them into large coolers.
Police say later employees realized that the men were not maintenance workers and called police.
The employees described the culprits as whitemenin their 50s whowore sunglasses. One man was overweight and approximately5 feet 5 inches tall, say police.
