WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Smithsonian's National Zoo officials say that Bozie the elephant made her debut at the zooon Thursday.

Bozie lost herlast companion at Baton Rouge Zoo, when the companiondied in March. The zoo loaned her tothe National Zoo to get Bozie socializing with other Asian elephants.

The 37-year-old female Asian elephant arrived at the zoo on May 22, spent 30 days in quarantine and is now in the Elephant Community Center with other elephants.

Officials say Bozie is getting along with the two other female elephants, Ambika and Shanthi.

Bozie was born in the wild around June 1975 and came to the U.S. from Sri Lanka in November 1976.
