WASHINGTON (WUSA9)-- If you drive in DC then you know all about the countless traffic cameras on the streets.

Now, DC Police say they are trying out new cameras that don't flash. Currently there are only a few up because they are being tested.

However, DC Police say if the tests prove the cameras to be effective they will install 32 of them throughout the district.

The non-flash models are being looked at because according to officials they have newer technology and the absence of a flash makes them less of a disturbance in the neighborhoods they are in.
