RICHMOND, Va. (WUSA9) -- WTVR reports that the Richmond International Airport was evacuated due to a phone threat Tuesday morning, but has now reopened.
In a tweet, airport officials said the threat was "...deemed serious enough to evacuate the terminal as a precautionary measure." (https://twitter.com/Flack4RIC)
Passengers told WTVR they were evacuated around 6:30 a.m. and told to move away from the terminal.Part of theparking garage reopened at 7:55 a.m. to allow some passengers to return to their cars and leave the airport, reports WTVR.
A sweep of one of the airport's two concourses was completed and nothing was found, reports the Associated Press.
The evacuation delayed flights.
