STEVENSVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Westbound lanes of the Bay Bridge have reopened after emergency response crews performed ahighangle rescue on Tuesday morning.
A 51-year-old contractor was hit by a five gallon bucket of paint in the head and neck while working on a catwalk under a span of the bridge, according to an MDTA spokesperson. Rescue crews stabilized his neck before lifting him up.
MDTA officials say that he is alert and conscious, and appears to have serious but non life-threatening injuries.
MDTA will conduct an official investigation.
