Dominion Virginia Power wants to remind you of the dangers of downed power lines in storms.

They say:

-- treat all downed lines and anything touching them as energized and dangerous.

-- teach your kids the dangers.

-- report and check the status of power outages

--put together an emergency preparedness kit. Include supplies such as flashlights, 3 day supply of water and non-perishable food, batteries, weather radio, money and important documents for insurance.

--check on neighbors and relatives
