WASHINGTON (AP) - The Smithsonian is asking for the public to help fund an exhibit about the history of yoga.

The first-ever exhibition on the visual history of yoga is scheduled to debut this fall at the Sackler Gallery.

Local media reports that on May 29, the Smithsonian will launch an online fundraising campaign that's the first of its time for the institution. The goal is to raise $125,000.

Curator Debra Diamond says yoga was a good subject for this kind of fundraising effort "because community has been part of it for centuries."
