WASHINGTON (WUSA9) --It is bike to work day in DC and the thousands who took part couldn't have asked for better weather.
More than 14,000 people signed up to ditch their four wheels on Friday in favor of two. The annual event is coordinated by Commuter Connections and the Washington Area Bicyclists Association. It includes more than 70 pit stops for cyclists in DC, Maryland and Virginia.
Brian Wilson bikes to work every day.
"It's about 12 miles...bike trails pretty awesome," he said.
Robert Patterson pedaled from Tenleytown with 3-year-old Oscar in tow.
He says you're never too young to hit the pavement.
"I think you need to eliminate the fear, he's come a long way."
