SILVER SPRING, Md. (WUSA9) -- Montgomery County Police say an employee of a nearby shopping center in Silver Spring was sexually assaulted and are looking for her attacker.

It happened around 2:30 Thursday afternoon on Rogart Road near University Boulevard West in the Four Corners area.
The mother of the victim talked with our Surae Chinn.

WUSA9 has a policy of not identifying victims of sexual assaults and therefore we are not identifying the mother.

The mother says her 21-year-old daughter is scared and traumatized.

She says her daughter was on her lunch break and had left the shopping. She had stepped outside just behind the shopping center in aneighborhoodwhere she encountered her attacker. She told police he lead her right into the backyard in between two homes and raped her at knife point.

"She's disturbed she's traumatized she doesn't want to come back to work. She saw he was following her and kept on following her, trying to get a date or something. She told him to leave her alone but he had a knife. He told her to sit on the curb and act like nothing was wrong and that's when she saw the postal people."

Police say the man then forced the woman into Lilian Flores' yard and raped her.

"So afraid my daughter sleeping in my room never happen over here."

Captain Paul Starks, Montgomery Co. Police, "He produced a knife, felt her life was in danger and complied with her demands."

The man has not been caught. Police have only provided a vague description but they are working on a composite sketch. Anyone with information about this case should call police.
