GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WUSA9) -- Gaithersburg Police say they have arrested a man for committing burglary at a veterinary hospital twice in one week.

According to police, 26-year-old Joshua Richards was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and theft less than $1,000.

Police say that officers responded to Negola's Ark Veterinary Hospital on Fields Road after a burglar alarm sounded on the morning of April 28. They determined someone had entered the building through sliding door and ransacked the office but had not stolen anything.

Two days later, police responded to the same location after the alarm sounded, according to authorities. Police say they found the front door open and spotted a man running to the back of the building. He was later discovered in woods behind the Bugaboo Creek Steakhouse, say police.

The man was identified as Richards, according to police. They believe that he may be responsible for other burglaries in the city and in Montgomery County. Police are investigating the cases.

In the meantime, Richards is being held at the Montgomery County Detention Center without bond.
